Abstract
This study examines the perceived employability of tourism and hospitality graduates in China using a sequential mixed-methods approach. By assessing quantitative survey data (using Adaptive Conjoint and Importance-Performance Analyses) and qualitative interview feedback from hospitality managers, the research identifies key competencies such as language skills, communication abilities, and real-world experience as critical to graduate employability. These findings reveal significant gaps in current educational programs and underscore the urgent need for curriculum enhancements that better align with industry demands. The study highlights the importance of strengthening partnerships between universities and industry to enhance the practical training and global competitiveness of graduates. The implications of this research are substantial, offering actionable insights that can transform educational practices and contribute to the strategic development of the tourism and hospitality sectors. These contributions are vital for both academic advancement and industry innovation
